The AAHA is proud to announce the appointment of Kristin Steele (New London, CT), Director of the Girl’s Player Development Program. Kristin brings a wealth of experience and currently serving in her 15th season as Women’s Head Coach of Connecticut College. Prior to Connecticut College, she served as Assistant Coach at Niagara University (1998-2001) and Colgate University in the 1997-1998 season.

“Coach Steele is familiar with the wealth of talent that has developed and played in the AAHA as evidenced by her recruitment of players from the AAHA. Her player recruitment has not been limited to skaters, but includes skilled goalies from the AAHA. We are thrilled to have a director that understands and agrees with the use of small ice and other ADM methods of player development” commented Pete Rothman (Malvern PA), AAHA Vice President of Girls / Women Hockey.

In addition to Ms. Steele’s collegiate responsibilities, she has coached for several USA Affiliate Camps as well as the USA Hockey Girls Festival program.

“I’m excited to join the Atlantic District in this capacity. Player development is very important to me and I look forward to working with the athletes and coaches in the district to further the game we love”, remarked Coach Steele.

“We are very fortunate to have Kristin on our staff. Her coaching experience spans over 20 years, and with nearly every age group. This is a big gain for our Player Development staff” stated AAHA President Glenn Hefferan.

Kristin’s first responsibility will be to oversee the Girl’s Festival Tryouts on March 25 & 26, 2016 at Ice Works, Aston, Pennsylvania.
